Updated: 1 April 2026

This accessibility statement applies to www.actonburnell-pc.gov.uk

Acton Burnell, Frodesley, Pitchford, Ruckley and Langley Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. It has invested a significant amount of resources to help ensure that its website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, with the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard. We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.

  • Some images do not have suitable alternative text.
  • Some links and buttons do not have clear or descriptive labels.
  • Parts of the website cannot be fully navigated using a keyboard.
  • Some colour combinations do not meet required contrast levels.
  • Some PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader users.
  • Headings are not always used in a logical order.
  • Some content does not reflow correctly when zoomed or viewed on smaller screens.

Enabling the Accessibility Menu

Some of these issues may be mitigated by enabling the accessibility menu. This can be enabled by clicking the accessibility menu icon that appears on the top corner of the page. After triggering the accessibility menu, please wait a moment for the accessibility menu to load in its entirety.

What We’re Doing to Improve Accessibility

We are working to fix the issues identified above. This includes:

  • Reviewing and updating website content
  • Improving document accessibility
  • Making technical improvements to navigation and structure
  • Working with our website provider to address known issues
  • Testing website accessibility at least every six months

We aim to make significant improvements during 2026.

Disproportionate Burden

We have assessed the cost and practicality of fixing some issues and believe that doing so would be a disproportionate burden at this time. In particular:

  • Older PDF documents published before 23 September 2018 may not be fully accessible
  • Some third-party content or functionality may not be fully accessible

We will ensure that any new documents we publish meet accessibility standards where possible. However, if you encounter any pdfs which have not yet been converted to accessible pdfs, please contact us and we will be happy to provide an accessible version, if possible. .
